Great to meet you if we haven’t met already! My name is Monique, and I am the CEO of Day One Early Learning Centres. I consider it a privilege to lead the Day One team and to provide a wonderful service for so many Day One families.
At Day One we start and finish every day with your child as our top priority. Why? Because we know that the first five years of your child’s life are the most important in setting them up for a life lived with confidence, care and curiosity. And… because we simply love the privilege of being part of your child’s developmental journey.
Our mission is to support every child in our care to reach their fullest potential – whatever shape or form that might take.
So what is “The Day One difference”? We truly deliver early childhood education and care for the 21st century. We do this by creating learning environments that are peaceful, purposeful and playful. Our educators are continuously engaged in professional development. The Day One community is a vibrant one, built on integrity, passion for education and a one team culture. When a child leaves our care, they are more than ready to embrace the next stage of their primary education. Day One children simply love to learn, discover and create.
How Day One is Different
When I was in the earliest planning stages for Day One, I consulted so many experts in the field of early learning – some of these were mainstream teachers and medical specialists, and others were education professionals who chose to take a more unusual approach to childhood education. I have visited education centres in a number of different countries, as well, to make sure I really understand what inclusion and diversity means in the early childhood context, as well as to witness the ways children are supported to learn in different parts of the world. After all, our world is so interconnected today, who knows where children will eventually land up living and working?!? I myself have lived and worked in many different countries over the years, and a strong love for diversity has enabled me to make wonderful friendships with people from very different backgrounds to my own :-). At the same time, my own very personal love of learning, instilled at a young age from wonderful family members and passionate teachers, is at the heart of what I wish for all Day One children – to be calm, confident and courageous learners – excited to discover more of what the world has on offer and how they can best contribute through every stage of their life!
I am excited about what we create with our families and look forward to sharing the journey with you.
